New Painting - Dancing with Hoops

I just finished a new painting - Dancing with Hoops.  In April, 2014, the annual Native American powwow-style dance and drumming exhibition was held in Aspen.  My son works in Snowmass - just outside Aspen -  and every year he sets up the speakers and microphones for this exhibition and donates his time for their sound.  I went over to see it and helped my son a little with the mics and cables - after the powwow we were invited to have dinner with the performers.  This painting is from one of many pictures I took during the dancing.

Nine of my original watercolors are hanging in the Boulder Street Gallery

On November 3, 2014, I hung 9 of my original watercolors in the Boulder Street Gallery.  I am renting 1/2 of a wall and there are 25 other artists who are also renting wall space.  We all are members of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.  The Boulder Street Gallery is located in Colorado Springs at 206 N. Tejon Street.  Gallery hours are Tues-Fri 10-5 and Sat 10-2.

On the first Friday of every month there is an Artwalk at the gallery with artists, refreshments and music from 5-8 PM.

My art is on the left side of the back wall.  The paintings range in price from $35 to $700.  A gift of art is a wonderful Christmas or another special gift which would be treasured for many years.

My paintings are on the left side of this wall.

In February, 2014, I took a class from Lorraine Watry on
painting skies.  After the class ended, I finished a painting
called Tie Dye Sky.

In January, 2014, I finished a commissioned painting
of Siegfried

.
Late in the year I painted a friend's dog, using colored pencils.
Her name was Lily.

In June 2013, in a watercolor workshop I took from Linda Baker,
I started 2 paintings and later in the year finished them for the PPWS
member show.  The first one is Mesa Arch and
the second one is New Pipes.
